Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

Ada — Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:

Applique Hand Quilt – first, second  and Best of Show were awarded to Debbie Jeffers of Seminole, third place went to Delores Lee; Applique Machine, first and second , Patricia Bolding, third Gail Lloyd; Hand Pieced, Hand Quilted, first Darlene Hollwager; Machine Pieced, Hand Quilted first Jane Adair; Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted Commercial, first Treva Gurley, second Debbie Jeffers, third Delores Lee; Machine Pieced, Machine Quilted, self, first Debbie Williams, second Gail Lloyd, third Susan Lackey; Machine Embroidery, first Janna Kelley; Mixed Technique, first Treva Gurley, second Delores Lee, third Dee Ann Hodges; First Quilt, first and Reserved Best of Show Stephany Parkey, second Susan Lackey, third Susan Rose; Crib Quilt Machine Quilted, first Ann Stevenson, second Carla Moon, third Jessie Welch; Quilted Home Deco, first Cindy Derryberry, second Carla Moon, third Judy Bettinger; Wall-hanging, Machine Quilted first Debbie Jeffers, second Patricia Balding, third Janna Kelley; and Throw/lap, machine quilted, first Patricia Bolding, second Jessie Welch, third Kathy Wilken.

People’s Choice was won by Dee Ann Hodges of Gore.

  • Martin family holds reunion

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
