Fish dinner, gospel singing set

SASAKWA — A fish dinner and gospel singing will be held at Assembly of God Church in Sasakwa on Saturday, July 13. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. Cost is $8 for a large dinner and $5 for a small dinner. Singing begins at 7 p.m. and proceeds benefit the youth ministries.

Singing talent includes The Gaskills Bluegrass, The Gastineaus, Mark Hewitt, The McDonalds, Barbara Jones and The Becks.

 

Church to host taco dinner

ADA — The Ada Calvary Church will host an Indian taco dinner from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. July 19 at the church, 930 W. Eighth. The cost is $7 per person which includes dessert.

Pentecostal church hosts VBS

ROFF — The Pentecostal Holiness Church of Roff will host vacation Bible school from 12:30 to 3 p.m. July 22 through 26. The theme for the week will be “Building Your Heart House,” and the program will offer classes for children age 3 through 13.

The children should not wear clothing that would be soiled by the program’s games and projects.

The program will serve free hot dogs and hamburgers from 12:30 to 1 p.m. each day. On July 26, the children will leave for a skating party at 1 p.m. in Sulphur. Children should bring spending money if they want to buy anything at the party.

Church to honor Josie Grissom

ROFF — The Pentecostal Holiness Church of Roff will celebrate its Special Person of the Month during the service at 1 p.m. July 21.

The special person is Josie Grissom, a born-again Christian who attends the church. The congregation will celebrate Grissom’s life with a special service from 1 to 1:30 p.m. and present her with a rose at the end of the service.

Following the service, the congregation will end the celebration with a special meal in Grissom’s honor at 1:30 p.m.
