Ada — Children’s Sabbath schuduled for Sunday

The children’s department from the First United Methodist Church of Ada will present “Children’s Sabbath” Sunday, April 27, at the 8:30 a.m. service in the chapel and the 10:45 a.m. service in the sanctuary. They will lead the worship services with Scripture, prayer message and music. The choirs, under the direction of Rozzie Purdey, will sing a wide variety of music including “God Loves Me,” “This is the Day,” “Sing to the Lord,” “Joy Inside,” "Over My Head,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Day by Day” and “Awesome God.” The tone chime choir, the Tone Rockers, will play “Amazing Grace” and “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee.” Elisabeth Rogers is the children’s director. The church is located at 129 W. 14th St.


ABT conducts spring attendance campaign

At Ada Baptist Temple, the month of April is its spring attendance campaign. The church family is working to build attendance. Morning worship will be about “The Baptist Book — The Bible,” and the evening service will feature missionary evangelist Josh Harris from Albuquerque, N.M. ABT is at 301 Napier St. Bible study is at 10 a.m., with morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening services at 6 p.m. For more information or transportation, call 580-436-4546.


St. Joseph Youth to have garage sale

Saturday, May 3, the youth of St. Joseph Church will have a garage in Benedictine Hall from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be an assortment of items for sale including furniture, books, toys, kitchen items, bedding, home décor items, holiday décor and more.  The proceeds from the sale will help the youth attend their summer conference, to be held at Missouri State University.  


Gospel Singing fundraiser slated for May 3

A gospel singing fundraiser will be at 5 p.m. May 3 at Willard Grade Center, 817 E. Ninth St. in Ada, featuring local groups, choirs and solo performers. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and soft drinks will be sold, and silent auction items will be available to bid on. Donations will also be accepted. Barbecue fundraiser set for May 24

A ministry fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 24 at Willard Grade Center Gym, 817 E. Ninth St. in Ada. A barbecue rib plate is $7, and a barbecue chicken plate is $6. Trip to Israel planned for September

Central Bible Academy enrolling 

Central Bible Academy is currently enrolling for the upcoming school year. Classes are for 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds. Class size is limited to six beginners per teacher, eight 3-year-olds per teacher and 12 4-year-olds per teacher. Hours are from 8:45-11:45 a.m. daily and from 8:45 a.m. -1:45 p.m. for "Stay and Play," which provides optional extended play and lunch on special occasions once per month.

The pre-school is a ministry of Central Church of Christ at 820 Stadium Drive in Ada. The pre-school seeks to serve the educational and spiritual needs of young children as well as minister to their families. Class activities include creative play, self-expression and motor control through art and music, basic number concepts, pre-reading readiness, social studies and earth science on an appropriate developmental level.
