Church features special singers

ADA — Union Hill Baptist Church features special singers at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 28. Singers include Lawrence Archer, Kathy Lofton and Kim Hardcastle.

The event is open to the public.


Local church hosts give-away event

ADA — Community Give-A-Way takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at The Refuge, 1001 Tipton Terrace A free meal, moon bounces and games are included in the event. Items to be given away include water, diapers and household goods.


Church to host 

food ministry

Philemon Baptist Church, 3101 Ware Drive, hosts a food ministry from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday. For more information, phone 332-2063.


Church features 'writing on the wall'

ADA — New Life Apostolic Church welcomes all to drive by the church and see "the handwriting on the wall." It is at the church activity center, located on East 32nd Street. Pastor is M.D. Bates. Phone 580-436-1765 for more information.


Singing scheduled Sunday in Ada

ADA — Open microphone singing set at 6 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at River of Life Church, 401 W. Seventh.


Grace in the Trenches scheduled

ADA — Ahloso First Baptist Church presents Grace in the Trenches from Goldsby on Sunday, May 5. Services are at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Hot dogs will be served at 5 p.m.

Special music will be by Simply Grace and Friends.

Friends Day celebrated in Ada

ADA — This Sunday is “Friend Day” at Ada Baptist Temple.

The congregation has been busy inviting their friends to church and are expecting a great day.

Services begin at 10 a.m. for Bible study and 11 a.m. for preaching service.

The event is open to the public.

Bible study on heaven, hell set

ADA — United Church of God, publisher of The Good News Magazine, hosts a public Bible study titled "What Does the Bible Really Say about Heaven and Hell?" 

Is Heaven God's reward for the righteous? Will a loving God punish people forever in hell?

This free and informative Bible study will be held Wednesday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m. at Ada Public Library.

Day of Prayer scheduled in Ada

ADA — Day of Prayer event takes place at noon May 2 at the Pontotoc County Courthouse.

Music will be led by Carl Hayes and the welcome address by Shawn Wiebers. Janet Wilburn will sing a song of commitment, "The Lord's Prayer."

Prayers will be led by Pat Kilby, Bud Ross, Mickey Keith, Drew Dibler, David Daniel, Derek Altom, Temple Diehl and Zac Christian.


Bless the Home series begins

ADA — hosts a new series, Bless the Home, beginning April 28.

So many families are struggling today. Jesus taught about eight qualities of the blessings of God in the Beatitudes. The series helps participants discover what it means to have a blessed home.

Lessons are at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and noon at 108 W. Main.


Last Sunday supper scheduled April 28

ADA — First Christian Church hosts a last Sunday supper community dinner from 4:30-6 p.m. April 28. Members invite the public to join them for food, fun and fellowship.

The church is located at the corner of 13th and Broadway.


Practical Bible lessons continue

ADA — Bud Ross continues a series of practical Bible lessons at 9:30 a.m. April 28 at Central Church of Christ. He is speaking on "What to do when you are so mad you could kill somebody.”
