Area Briefs

Area briefs are for non-profit events and organizations. Briefs must be submitted at least five days before the event by bringing them into the office, emailing them to adanewslifestyle@cableone.net or faxing them to 580-332-8841. Briefs will not be accepted over the telephone. Church-related briefs are published only on Friday’s religion page. All activities may be subject to change due to weather conditions. 

 

WEDNESDAY

OCTOBER 16, 2013

• Fall rabies clinic takes place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-5 p.m. at Arlington Animal Clinic . For more information, phone 580-436-1030. Vaccinations are $10 each. 

• Fall rabies clinic takes place from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-5 p.m. at Ada Vet . For more information, phone 580-332-1786. Vaccinations are $10 each. 

• Fall rabies clinic takes place from 8:30 a.m.-12 and 2-5 p.m. at Animal Medical Center . For more information, phone 580-332-3071. Vaccinations are $10 each.

• Ada First Baptist Church Bread of Life Ministry offers a free meal to those in the community who are in need. The meal is served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the church dining room, 521 S. Broadway Ave., Ada. For more information, phone 580-332-4121. 

 

FRIDAY

OCTOBER 18, 2013

• Cookies, cakes and pies, Oh My! CASA bake sale takes place from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at 514 E. 10th. Donate baked goods to CASA and support the children. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to help abused children in this area. Donated items need to be delivered to the CASA office before 8 a.m. Friday.

  • Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

    Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:
