Crosspointe Church to host Sheriff

Crosspointe Church will host Pastor Duane Sheriff at 5 p.m. Aug. 25.

Sheriff is the senior pastor of Victory Life Family Worship Center in Durant. He is known for his ability to communicate the gospel in simple and practical terms.

Sheriff began his free ministry of educational tapes and CDs in 1984, according to a news release from the church. The outreach program has distributed more than 21 million free tapes and CDs.

Sheriff and his wife, Sue, consider their home as their number-one priority, according to the news release. Their emphasis and commitment to their family has resulted in the strength and growth of Duane Sheriff Ministries and Victory Life Church.

In addition, Crosspointe Kids Church will have special activities planned for children from newborns through the fourth grade.

Homer church to host gospel group

The gospel music group A Servant’s Heart will be ministering through song at 10:45 a.m. Aug. 25 at Homer Baptist Church, located east of Ada at 13901 CR 3590.

Pastor Jimmy Hoffman and members extend an invitation to come, enjoy and be blessed by the gospel music of A Servant’s Heart.

The group was formed over seven years ago and is comprised of Ada residents Patty and Jerry Bailey, Debby Flowers, Jim F. Miller and Holly Wood. They have released their first CD project, titled His Love Is Amazing.

An excerpt from the group’s CD jacket describes their call to ministry, “The Lord has called us into this ministry to lead others to the altar of worship, and to fulfill His purpose in our lives: to share, through song, the Good News.”

Special Bible Study at New Life

New Life Apostolic Church invites everyone to a special Bible study on Revelations 13 and the new chip that will be put in each person in the whole world. The Bible teaches against this number system, which will happen in 2017.

The Refuge giveaway

The Refuge giveaway will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at 1001 Tipton Terrace, Ada. Items given away include diapers, water, vegetables and school supplies, and there will be a drawing for gift cards. Everything will be free.
