Brandy Brackett to marry Joshua Jeffreys Oct. 12

McAlester —

 

Joshua Landon Jeffreys and Brandy Nicole (Robbins) Brackett of McAlester have announced their upcoming marriage this fall.

The groom-elect is the son of Jim and ReNae Jeffreys of Canadian. He is the grandson of the late John and the late Alice Jeffreys and Elaine Bernard of McAlester, and the late Billy Roy Taylor.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Sean and Jana Brackett of Harrah. She is the granddaughter of Daniel and Janet Brackett of Seminole,  Shirley Robbins of Chickasha and the late Raymond E. “Butch” Robbins Jr.

Josh Jeffreys graduated from Savanna High School in 2003 and earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at East Central University in 2006. He currently works at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant in railroad transportation.

Brandy Brackett graduated from Seminole High School in 2002 and earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications at ECU in 2006. She works with Lifetouch Photography in the church directories and portraits division as a photography sales specialist.

Their ceremony will take place Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 325 E. Washington Ave., in McAlester  with the Rev. Stephanie Swinnea officiating. The All Saints’ choir will be directed by organist Sally Hanway, featuring harpist Linda Paul of Tulsa.

The maid of honor is Genieve Taylor of Oklahoma City, bridesmaid is Heather Dorantes of Carrollton, Texas. Bridegroom’s nephew Jace Jeffreys and the bride’s father will present the bride to the bridegroom.  He will be accompanied by his best man, his brother, Jordon Jeffreys of McAlester, and groomsman Cody Jennings of Muskogee.

A reception will follow at the McAlester Country Club until midnight.

  • Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

    Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:
