Ada —

Lauri Sayre, director of operations at McCortney Family In-home Care, has been named the Outstanding Home Care Administrator for the Eastern Region of the state of Oklahoma.

Sayre is director over the company’s offices in Ada and Ardmore.  She oversees a staff of over thirty caregivers who work in the homes of clients who need help with daily activities such as laundry, errand running, medication monitoring, hygiene assistance, or meal preparation.

Greg McCortney, owner of McCortney Family In-home Care, said the decision to nominate Mrs. Sayre was easy once he read the standards for the award which included these among other things:

• Exemplifies what it means to be an advocate for their care recipients

• Earned confidence as a provider of quality care, not only from the agency but also from care recipients, their family members and others in the community

• Actively and consistently models compassion for their care recipients

The award was presented by the Home Care Association of America - Oklahoma Chapter at the association’s annual meeting and awards banquet which was held May 2 in Oklahoma City.  She received a certificate that recognizes her as “excelling among her peers as one who performs her duties with a high level of care, compassion and excellence.”

Along with the certificate, Sayre was given a cash prize.  Winners were selected from each of four regions of the state:  Tulsa metro, Oklahoma City metro, western Oklahoma and eastern Oklahoma.

Sayre was born and raised in Ada, graduated high-school from Stonewall, and has lived almost all of her life in Southern Oklahoma.  She is married to Highway Patrol Lt. Brett Sayre and has four daughters, Shelby, Shay, Sheyanne and Shadley.
