Area briefs are for non-profit events and organizations. Briefs must be submitted at least five days before the event by bringing them into the office, emailing them to adanewslifestyle@cableone.net or faxing them to 580-332-8841. Briefs will not be accepted over the telephone. Church-related briefs are published only on Friday’s religion page. 

 

FRIDAY

JUNE 14, 2013

• A gospel show takes place at 7 p.m. the second Friday of each month at the American Legion Building located north of the four-way stop in Stratford. The even is free and open to the public. It is open microphone for gospel music. For more information, phone Carol at 320-4319.

• ACT II Youth Drama Camp 2013 presents Montgomery Mansion, a horror musical comedy by Vickie Reifsnider.  Performance begins at 7 p.m. in ECU’s Dorothy I. Summers Theatre. Tickets are available at the door 30 minutes prior to performance time; $8 adults, $6 students/seniors, $4 children age 5 and under. JUNE 15, 2013

• Cruisin’ For CASA  —a fundraiser including dinner, a concert and live and silent auctions — takes place at Pontotoc County Agri-plex. Dinner and silent auction are from 6-7:30 p.m., live auction is at 7:30 p.m. and music and dancing are at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 each for adults and $15 each for children ages 12 and younger. • Traditional Country Music takes place the third Saturday of each month at Mary’s Music Barn, featuring The Country Pride Band with special guests. The event is located three and one-half miles south of Stonewall on Jesse Highway. Turn right on McDonald Road.   • Martin family holds reunion

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
