Celebrate Father’s Day at the Chickasaw Cultural Center

Sulphur —

Take dad to the Chickasaw Cultural Center, Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, to celebrate Father’s Day.

Fathers will receive free admission to Chikasha Poya Exhibit Center all weekend as well as complimentary cookies and tea in the Aaimpa Café.

A special stomp dance honoring fathers will be demonstrated, and a Father’s Day card workshop is planned for Saturday.

Special sales will be offered in the gift shop.

In addition, a traditional “living village” is open every weekend through Labor Day. Living history performers re-enact Chickasaw life in the 1750s and offer interactive activities for all ages, including basket making, hide tanning, archery, traditional children’s games, craft and pottery demonstrations and stickball games.

The Father’s Day celebration will be conducted from 10 to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Cultural Center is located at 867 Cooper Memorial Drive in Sulphur.

For more information, call the Chickasaw Cultural Center at 580-622-7130.
