Ada — Eberle to speak at Ada Baptist Temple

Robert Eberle will preach at Ada Baptist Temple Sunday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. He invites his friends to be present for the services as he has not been able to preach for some time. Church offers lessons on coming of Christ

New Life Apostolic Faith Church offers lessons on the coming of Jesus Christ (Matthew 24 — when the sun is darkened and the moon turns to blood) and on Jewish feasts. For more information, phone 436-1765. Pastor is M.D. Bates.

 

St. Joseph Youth to host Chili-Cook-Off

The youth group at St. Joseph Church will host a chili cook-off Sunday, Jan. 26, at noon in Benedictine Hall at 1300 E. Beverly. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 per person which includes sampling of the chili recipes and a beverage. Each person will be given a ballot to vote. There will also be a silent auction table with various items. The proceeds will be used to help the youth attend the Steubenville Youth Conference in July.

 

Chili dinner slated

Ada First Free Will Baptist Church is holding its Annual Chili Dinner, Friday, Jan. 31 at Ada First Free Will Baptist Family Life Center (15th and Ash).  Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.  For more information, phone the church office at 332-3319.

 

ABT Spanish Department meets Sundays

Ada Baptist Temple’s Spanish Department meets every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Bible study, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for preaching and worship and then on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. for prayer and Bible study. It is led by Pastor Tomas Chavez. Ada Baptist Temple is located at 301 Napier St. For more information or transportation, call the church office at 580-436-4546.

  • Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

    Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:
