Ada — Ada is looking for a few good yards and storefronts

ADA — During July, August, and September, the Take P.A.R.T. Beautification Committee will select a Yard of the Month in Ada, one residential and one commercial.

The winning yard and storefront will be featured in The Ada News. 

The owners will receive a certificate along with a sign in the front yard for the month.

Winners will be notified by the end of the month preceding their winning month.

To nominate a yard or business, send the address and a photo (and any other pertinent information) to lisa.bratcher@adaok.com.

Monthly Movie in the Park night set for June 28

ADA — The monthly summer movie night will take place on Saturday, June 28, at Wintersmith Park, featuring The Lego Movie. 

Sponsored by Kiwanis of Greater Ada, the event starts at 5 p.m. with the kiddy train and carousel, putt-putt golf, snow cones, popcorn and hamburger/hot dogs available at regular prices. 

At 6 p.m., there will be free inflatables for the kids and music.

The free movie begins at dusk in the park south of Wintersmith Lodge.

  • Martin family holds reunion

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
