Ada — Spanish church marks second anniversary

Ada Baptist Temple Spanish department will mark the second anniversary with special services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ada Baptist Temple at 301 Napier Street. Tomas Chavez leads the Spanish-speaking congregation. Regular Sunday services are on Sunday with 10 a.m. Sunday School and preaching at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday Bible study is held at 7 p.m. For more information or transportation, call the church office at 580-436-4546.


Gospel Opry slated

Cross Cut Cowboy Church hosts a Gospel Opry the first Sunday evening of each month. The church will have a meal at 6 p.m., and the singing will begin at 7 p.m. Families, groups and individuals are invited to perform. Cross Cut Cowboy Church is located seven miles north of Ada on US 377/SH 99. For more information, call Dan Megehee at 405-203-5783.


Homecoming on June 1

Sunshine Missionary Baptist Church will be having Homecoming at 10 a.m. Sunday.


Burgers and Jazz on Sunday

The First United Methodist Church of Ada will host its annual “Burgers and Jazz” at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in the church’s courtyard. Hamburgers, hot dogs, side dishes and desserts are all free. The musicians include Mark Hollingsworth on  saxophone, Eric Hall playing trombone, Pat Purdy and James Purdy playing drums, Alex Purdy playing bass and Rozzie Purdy playing the keyboard. Bible School June 1-5

Union Hill Church will be having Bible school from 6-8 p.m. June 1-5 for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. For transportation or more information, call Myra Sanders at 580-320-2150.


Bridge event scheduled for June 5

A charity bridge event will be held at 1 p.m. June 5 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 17th and Broadway in Ada. The Ada Area Bridge Club encourages all bridge players to participate. A $5 donation per person is appreciated. There will be a sanctioned duplicate game with snacks. All proceeds will go to the church. Call Frank Shanklin at 580-436-0323 for more information.
