Stephens, Meadows to exchange marriage vows

Ada —

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stephens, Atoka, and Mr. and Mrs. Derk Meadows, Tushka, announce the engagement of their children, Timber Leigh Stephens and Trask Lynn Meadows.

The wedding takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at the home of Derk and Dana Meadows. A dinner and reception will be held immediately following the outdoor ceremony.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Donald and Nell Tomlinson of Claremore and Thurman Stephens, Roff, and the late Bette Stephens. She is the great-granddaughter of Alyene Tomlinson, Coalgate, and the late Ulyesess Tomlinson, Opal Weller, Tupelo, and the late Deborn Weller, and the late Abner and Bertha Stephens and the late Harold and Vernice Davis.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Daniel and Pat Crites, Caney, and Christene Meadows, Tushka, and the late Lenard Meadows. He is the great-grandson of Jo Ingram, Caney, and the late Jack Ingram, the late Kermit and Willie Crites, the late Sam and Minnie Dodds and the late Jesse and Minnie Meadows.

The bride-elect is a senior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University majoring in elementary education and currently employed at Uptown Girls in Atoka. 

The prospective bridegroom recently received his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and is employed at MD Detailing in Atoka. The couple plan to make their home in Tushka after they are married.

  • Pontotoc County Quilt Show Results

    Pontotoc County Home and Community Education Clubs held their annual quilt show last week with 97 judged quilts and 28 for-show-only for a grand total of 125 quilts hanging at the two-day show. The event drew over 300 visitors from as far as Tennessee. Eleven vendors were on hand and sold quilting fabric and notions. The following are the results of the judged quilts:
