Ada — Ada Baptist Temple to honor mothers

Ada Baptist Temple will honor mothers on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11. ABT is located at 301 Napier St. For more information or transportation, call the church office at 580-436-4546.

 

Revival to be held in Connerville

A revival will be held at Blue Baptist Church in Connerville starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, and continuing nightly at 7 p.m. through Wednesday, May 14. Evangelist Richard Pickup Jay will be speaking. Sunday night, Children in Action is providing a meal; Monday night, the men will provide a fish fry meal; Tuesday, the youth will provide the meal; Wednesday is ladies’ night, with a potluck. Church offers free meal May 15

Ada First Baptist Church Bread of Life Ministry offers a free meal to those in the community who are in need. The meal is served from 5:30-6:30 p.m. the third Thursday of each month in the church dining room, 521 S. Broadway Ave., Ada. For more information, call 580-332-4121.

 

Gospel singing to be held May 17

A gospel singing will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex in the Rock Building at the north entrance. Groups to sing include Bobby and Tina, River of Life Singers and Mark Huett. Gigi and Randy will be the featured group. For more information, call Boyce Jones Sr. at 580-399-7318.

 

Barbecue fundraiser set for May 24

A ministry fundraiser will be held May 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Willard Grade Center Gym, 817 E. Ninth St. in Ada. A barbecue rib plate is $7, and a barbecue chicken plate is $6. The fundraiser is sponsored by Brotherly Love and Under the Blood Outreach Ministries. For more information or to purchase tickets, call Charlene Blue at 580-235-3923.

 

ABT Spanish Department meets

Ada Baptist Temple’s Spanish Department meets every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. for Bible study, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for preaching and worship and then on Wednesday evenings at 7 for prayer and Bible study. It is led by Pastor Tomas Chavez. Ada Baptist Temple is located at 301 Napier St. For more information or transportation, call the church office at 580-436-4546.

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
