• Maud Coon, local author, hosts a book signing from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Ada Public Library for her new children’s book, I Am a Big Sis Now. This book teaches the dangers of sibling rivalries and how to resolve conflicts peacefully. The author holds a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from the College of New Rochelle in New York.

• Mary’s Music Barn presents traditional country music, featuring Country Pride Band with special guest, the third Saturday of each month. Mary’s Music Barn is located three and one-half miles south of Stonewall on Jesse Highway. Turn right on McDonald Road. TUESDAY

APRIL 23, 2013

• Combat Infantrymen’s Association (CIA) meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Ada Public Library . This organization is open to Army infantry veterans who have served in a foreign war and earned the Combat Infantryman’s badge.  For more information, phone Louis Dunlap, commander, at 580-436-2725 or Rich Putman. 

• Al-Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Tuesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

 

WEDNESDAY

APRIL 24, 2013

• Single Mom’s support group  (S.M.I.L.E. Single Mom’s: Insightful, Loved, Empowered) meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at The Perfect Blend Coffee Shop, 730 E. Main. Dinner is provided and childcare is available at Trinity Baptist Church. For more information, phone  Tisha at 580-759-5260. 

• Emotions Anonymous is meeting every Wednesday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 820 Stadium Drive. For more information, phone  Kristina at (580) 279-4870. 

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road, Ada. This group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 580-332-6506.

• A dance is conducted each Wednesday at Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and is open to the public.

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
