Local ministry feeds the hungry in Ada

ADA — Bread of Life Ministry, hosted by Ada First Baptist Church, feeds the hungry in the Ada community from 5:3-6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in the church dining room, 521 S. Broadway Ave. 

This meal is offered to those in need in the community. Anyone who needs a hot meal is welcome.


Ladies breakfast set at Ada church

ADA — College Heights Baptist Church invites all women interested in good food and   Christian fellowship to join them Saturday, March 16, for their monthly ladies breakfast at 10 a.m.

Stonewall church hosts yard sale

STONEWALL — Stonewall Free Will Baptist Church conducts an indoor yard sale and clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m Saturday.

The church is located at 301 N. Highschool. The event will be held at the fellowship hall located behind the main building. 


Roff church honors Special Persons

ROFF — Pentecostal Holiness Church of Roff celebrates Special Persons of the Month in a 1 p.m. service Sunday, March 17.

The Special Persons of the Month are Vera Morrison and daughter Phyllis Morrison. Each has given her life and heart to Jesus and is serving Him in and through the local church.

Family and friends of Vera and Phyllis are invited to attend the event. The celebration includes a special sermon from their favorite Scripture passages, a Special Persons of the Month prayer, a small gift and fellowship meal.

Ada Baptist Temple plans busy week

ADA — Ada Baptist Temple has a busy week  planned, beginning Sunday, March 17, with Workers Appreciation Day. The church will recognize its faithful workers from the bus ministry; Sunday school and children’s church ministry; nursery ministry; teen, Spanish and senior adult ministry; ladies ministry; and the church staff.

On Tuesday, March 19, at noon will be the Jolly 60s Luncheon. The church provides a luncheon once a month for its senior citizens. This is usually a time of fun activities and a short devotion.

Tom Hastings, longtime missionary to Germany, is preaching at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20.

On Friday, March 22, at 7 p.m., the church hosts a family night activity. This month's activity is a treasure hunt.

Services are open to  the public.

The WAY meets Tuesday in Ada

 ADA — The WAY meets Tuesday nights at 6 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church. This is a 12-step recovery meeting for adults. There is also a Bible-based program for children. A meal is served after the meeting. The Christ-centered 12 steps can be applied to everyone’s life.

The WAY will not meet Tuesday, March 19.


Holy days discussed April 3 in study

ADA — The United Church of God, publisher of The Good News Magazine, hosts a public Bible study titled God’s Plan of Salvation Revealed in the Annual Holy Days. Did the Apostle Paul teach gentile churches to observe the annual holy days? Do the annual holy days have meaning for Christians today?

These questions will be discussed at a free and informative Bible study at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, at Ada Public Library.
