Area Briefs

Area briefs are for non-profit events and organizations. Briefs must be submitted at least five days before the event by bringing them into the office, emailing them to adanewslifestyle@cableone.net or faxing them to 580-332-8841. Briefs will not be accepted over the telephone. Church-related briefs are published only on Friday’s religion page. All activities may be subject to change due to weather conditions.

• The Ada Library Friends members sale opens to the public from 8:30 to 5:30 p.m. Small format paperback books will be 50 cents each. Most hardcover books will be $1 or more . Anyone making large purchases must keep containers at the end of the aisles so others can get by to make their selections. Don’t miss this opportunity to stock up on some great books at bargain prices. For more information, phone 580-436-8121.

• Mercy Hospital Ada Auxiliary is sponsoring a book fair on the ground floor hallway of the hospital. All proceeds benefit patient care at Mercy Hospital Ada. 

 • Ada Chapter 758 of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Mercy Hospital Ada (formerly Valley View Regional Hospital) in the cafeteria conference Room. The meeting is open to active or retired federal employees. For more Information, contact Kenneth Roberts at 580-279-6724.

• SMILE- Single mother’s support group meets at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesday evenings of every month at The Perfect Blend Coffee Shop, 730 E. Main.
