Fourth of July celebration set for next Thursday

Ada —

The Fireball Classic race, games and fireworks will be part of the mix when Ada hosts its Fourth of July celebration next week.

The daylong celebration at Wintersmith Park will begin early the morning of Thursday, July 4, with the Fireball Classic. Other activities will include turtle races for the kids, martial arts demonstrations and games for the entire family.

The Kiwanis Club of Greater Ada will open its miniature golf course and other attractions that day, and hot dogs and snow cones will be available.

The city’s largest-ever fireworks display will begin about 9:35 p.m. at the park, said Dr. John Garber, who serves on the Fourth of July planning committee. He said the fireworks will be shown at lake level this year, which should ensure a more spectacular display.

“You want to come to the park for sure to see the fireworks,” he said.

More information about the celebration, including a map, will appear in Friday’s edition of The Ada News.
