Women’s Bible Study to meet at Grace Christian Fellowship

ADA — Grace Christian Fellowship is proud to announce that W.I.N.G.S., which stands for Women in God’s Service, will be meeting every second Sunday of the month. The W.I.N.G.S. group is studying “Women of the Bible,” and Inell Cassell of Grace will be the first to lead the ministry time for the group.

Local church hosts second helping service Sunday

ADA — Asbury United Methodist Church hosts its second helping service at 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10. A time of fellowship will be conducted after the service.

 

Boys of Purpose, Girls of Destiny fellowship scheduled

 ADA — Boys of Purpose and Girls of Destiny fellowship will be from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at Grace Christian Fellowship (next to Star Skate). The event is free and open to children ages 4-18. They will be fed breakfast and lunch.

 

Tupleo Full Gospel Assembly Church cancels gospel singing

TUPELO — Full Gospel Assesmbly Church at Tupelo has canceled its third Saturday night singing until further notice.

 

Carson Taylor presents concert with friends Sunday in Ada

ADA — Carson Taylor, formerly of Ada, presents a concert with his friends featuring organ and choral music. The concert takes place at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 110 E. 17th St. A reception follows the concert.

 

Shrove Tuesday pancakes served Tuesday at St. Luke’s

ADA — St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, located at 17th and Broadway, hosts its annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper on Tuesday, Feb. 12. All proceeds will benefit the United Campus Ministry at East Central University. 

Shrove Tuesday, also known as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, is known the world over for the practice of eating special rich foods before the fasting season of Lent. Tickets are on sale at St. Luke’s Church and at United Campus Ministry. The event is open to the public.

United Church of God to host Bible study Feb. 27

ADA — United Church of God, publisher of The Good News Magazine, will be hosting a public Bible study titled "God’s Law: Is it Done Away?" Were The Ten Commandments Nailed to the Cross? What Did Paul Mean When He Said Christ Was the “End” of the Law?

This free and informative Bible study will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Ada Public Library. Attend to learn the answer to these and other important questions. For more information, phone 405-833-5084.

 

Ada Baptist Temple 

ADA — Ada Baptist Temple began 32 years ago in Ada for the expressed purpose of doing its part to fulfill the Great Commission stated in Mark 16:15: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

ABT members believe every person has the right to hear the good news of Jesus. ABT preaches the gospel in all three of its regular services Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
