• American Legion Post 72 hosts bingo each Saturday night. Mini games begin at 6 p.m. and regular bingo begins at 7 p.m. Snack bar items are available. 

• City of Springs Car Show, hosted by Sulphur Rotary Club, opens at 9 a.m. Free dash plaque and tee-shirt will be given to the first 75 entrants. A cruise through town is set for Friday night. SEPTEMBER 17, 2013

• Ada Prime Timers meet at J.D.’s Cafeteria for the regular monthly meeting. Visitation begins at 5:30 p.m. The meal will be served at 6 p.m. Tony Pippen and Dona Hensley will present a musical program. Guests are welcome.

• Volunteers with Ada Regional United Way Inc. will cover the area (blitzing) to bring additional funds to the 2014 ARUW Campaign. Sponsor for the event is Ada Nissan. Hot dogs and soft drinks or water will be available while supplies last. For each $10 contribution delivered in person, an individual can complete an entry form for an end-of-the-day drawing. Inidividuals making a $10 contribution will receive a ARUW T-shirt, while supplies last. SCORE radio will be broadcasting life from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

• Al-Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Tuesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

• Divorce/Bereavement Support Group meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The Compassion Outreach Center, 1124 Cradduck Road, Ada. This group offers support for those who have lost a loved one through divorce or death. For more information, phone Tom at 580-332-6506.

• A dance is conducted each Wednesday at Irving Community Center, 704 N. Oak, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person and is open to the public.

• The Ada Lions Club will host its 17th annual Shoot for Sight fundraiser Sept. 21 at the Ada Trap and Skeet Club. Participants will check in at 7:30 a.m. that day, and the shotguns will start at 8:30. The event will include awards for the high overall team, the high trap team and the high skeet team. Entry fee is $250 per team, which includes lunch, shells and all targets. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to Lions programs for people who need the gift of sight.
