ECU grad to compete in Ms. Senior America Pageant

Ada —

A graduate of East Central University, Zenetta Kendricks will be competing in this year's Ms. Senior America Pageant. The event takes place at the Resorts Hotel in Atlantic City Oct. 20-25

Delegates from across the USA will participate. However, this is not a 20 something event. To qualify candidates must have  reached the “Age of Elegance” 60 years and better. They will compete in four categories: An interview with the judges, their philosophy of life; model a full length evening gown and present a talent.

Kendricks, Oklahoma City, excelled in all of these categories and was crowned Ms. Senior Oklahoma 2013.  She will be representing Oklahoma in the national pageant.

There will be no swim wear competition. However, plenty of life experiences will be exchanged, wisdom expressed, stories swapped, grandchildren accomplishments proudly revealed, and they will share what life is like at this bend in the road. Much laughter will be heard, tears will be shed, nerves will be calmed and  the Ms. Senior America  crown will be placed on one special lady.

However, the rest of the participants will not ‘fall off the cliff’ at the end of the show. Each one takes her state crown and banner home and proudly visits community events, state fairs, parades and performs showcases with other past contestants in her state. She serves as a role model to her family, peers, and members of the community, especially seniors.

Ms. Senior Oklahoma, Inc. is a non profit 501 C3  organization dedicated to enriching and empowering all senior women by encouraging healthy aging. The candidates have a platform to showcase their creative lifestyles and vast volunteerism that they are providing for their communities. Ms. Senior Oklahoma  presents a forum for women to exude their inner beauty while exemplifying the positive image of aging that is redefining the senior woman.
