Ada — Hanging of the Green ceremony

Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett has chosen “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” as the theme for this year’s Hanging of the Green ceremony.

Church members invite the public to join them and their families for the annual Hanging of the Green at 6 p.m. Dec. 15 to celebrate Christ’s birth.

The church is located five miles west of Ada on Highway 19. The pastor is the Rev. John Henry Lippard.

New Life Apostolic Church members welcome area residents to drive by the church and see "the handwriting on the wall" of the activity center located on East 32nd Street.

Financial Peace University offered

Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University will be offered at Central Church of Christ for nine weeks beginning Jan. 15 on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. Cost is $93 for new enrollees and $49 for alumni. There is no charge for alumni if they don't want new material.)

 

Lottie Moon to make appearance

In keeping with the Lottie Moon offering for International Missions, Colbert Baptist Church hosts Lottie Moon this Sunday morning.

The pastor, Bob Payne, will interview Miss Moon (Ruth Ann Taylor) during the regular morning service at 11 a.m.  During the Christmas season, the church joins with other Southern Baptist churches in its emphasis on missions abroad.

The service is open to the public. For more information, contact the pastor at 332-3294. The church is located on County Road 1510, approximately three miles north of the city. A nursery will be provided.

 

Live nativity scheduled Dec. 21

A live nativity takes place from 6-8:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at First Presbyterian Church, 301 E. Kings Road.  Refreshments will be provided.

    Members of the family of the late Otis Sr. and Viola Roundtree Martin met for a reunion at Fossil Creek, south of Ada, on July 4. The men golfed in the morning, and the kids went swimming. Lots of visiting and making memories.
