Letter To The Editor

Ada —

Dear Editor,

The House of Hope Pregnancy Care Center, Inc., formerly Crisis Pregnancy Services of Ada, Inc. has been serving the Ada area since it was established as a non-profit (501c3) in 1993.  The center confidentially offers pregnancy testing, abortion alternative information, ultrasounds to abortion minded clients, prenatal and parenting classes, post-abortion support, adoption specialist consultation, adoption and community service referrals, infant and maternity clothes, diapers, formula, carseats, baby beds and other material assistance.  Because of support from area churches, businesses and families, we have been able to offer all of this to women and families free of charge!

For the past 12 years we have been renting a building located at 509 East 12th Street in the heart of Ada.  We are conveniently located just a few blocks from East Central University and near a residential area where most of our clientele can walk if they have no other form of communication.  The building owner bought our home with the intention of the House of Hope using it and has allowed us to occupy it at a nominal fee since its purchase in 2001.  He is now in the unforeseen position of having to sell the property.  We are hoping to buy the building so that we may continue to operate our ministry from its current location, but to do that, we need your help!

Our board of directors and staff have spent many hours in prayer and believe that God wants to use His people to support this cause, as He always has. While serving as director for the past 14 years,  one thing I love is seeing the generosity and unity in the body of Christ when it comes to the center.  We have always operated independant of any church but we are, in fact, a part of every church.  Did you know that 43% of all women have had an abortion by the age of 45?  And those who face an unplanned pregnancy (maybe themselves or in their family) are in your church every week!  The center exists to give them a non-judgmental, safe place to come for support, encouragement and the love of Christ.  To remain independant of any government rules we have never, nor will we ever, receive any state or federal funding.

Because we hadn’t expected this change in our agreement, we have no money reserved for the purpose of purchasing a building.  Your donation of any amount is tax deductible and will go directly into our newly established building fund.  $75,000 is needed by June!!  That is a lot in a little time but we believe God is able to do this and more!

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to call me at 580-332-4199 (office) or 580-272-7497 (cell).  You may also reply to this e-mail or send donations to the House of Hope 509 East 12th Street, Ada, Ok. 74820.  Please remember that any amount will help.  Thank you for prayerfully considering your role in this circumstance.  May God bless you!

In Christ Alone,

Rachel Miller
