Over 380 eggs, over 100 water balloons, over 40 turtles, boxes of ice cream bars, unlimited prizes, rope and a creek, judo, longest standing 5K/10K race in Oklahoma, cans of whipped cream, colored powder celebration, motorized train, Bernoulli’s Principle, miniature golf, shaved-ice snow cones, fire truck hose wars, and a most awesome fireworks display that scared the ducks all the way to Wapanucka.
Yep, just another typical Fourth of July in Ada, capping a spectacular seven-day streak of fun events beginning with Crusin’ Main the Friday before.
Thanks to the Sunrise Rotary, the Kiwanis Club, and the Ada Lion’s Club for their volunteer work as well as the Ada Police and Fire Department.
A big thanks to the marvelous publicity The Ada News gave to the event with stories, photos, and maps of the activities. I am absolutely positive that your coverage resulted in the record-breaking numbers for our Kiddie Olympics and Family Games events.
The paper is still the best way to get the word out to the community on upcoming events. Most of all, thank you to all the parents and grandparents who brought their kids to a great family fun day at Wintersmith Park and who got to discover that they too have just as much fun as the kids. No doubt about it, July 4th remains Ada’s Laughing Place. Oh yes, and God Bless America!
