Ada —

Cruising Main 2013 was bigger and better than ever! It was so amazing to look down Main Street and see people mingling and socializing as they watched the cruisers.

I met a sweet lady — 94 years young — cruising with her grandson in a purple Barracuda and saw several old friends that I’d cruised with in my teens taking their own kids for a drive. Cruising Main is a true family event and it is so neat to see several generations sharing memories and experiences with each other. Thanks to everyone who came out to enjoy downtown Ada. Our local merchants depend on support from our community and the cruise is a great way to remind people of that.

Each year volunteers make Cruising Main happen with the help of sponsorships from local businesses. The Ada Main Street Board of Directors would like to extend thanks to Ada Coca-Cola and Apple Market for their generous donations of drinks and ice cream, as well as Boom-A-Rang Diner, Citizens Bank, First United Bank, Hamburger King, Landmark Bank, McDonalds, Mercy Hospital Ada, OG&E, Pontotoc Technology Center, Vintage 22, and Vision Bank.

Their support of Ada Main Street’s endeavors is greatly appreciated! We also received many donations of prizes and give-aways too numerous to mention! Thanks to 106.5, Boss FM, for keeping the night rockin’ and rollin’ along!

Cruising Main has become Ada Main Street’s most anticipated annual event! But don’t wait until the next Cruising Main to head downtown.

Main Street shop owners, restaurateurs, and professional service providers are here all year long to make sure you have an excellent, entertaining experience in Downtown Ada. Ada’s Main Street has so much to offer—take advantage of all that is Ada everyday!

Ada Main Street is truly a unique organization. I’ve enjoyed being a part of the Main Street scene over the last year, getting to know the merchants and the volunteers who work to make our town the best it can be.

We have many ongoing improvement projects that will further enhance our downtown, creating a quaint destination for those who visit Ada and for those who call it home.

I’m so excited to see the completion of the lighting improvements and the gateway on West Main.

As I step down from the position of program manager at Ada Main Street to take a job in the education field, I look forward to staying involved with the program supporting the mission of Ada Main Street—to promote the quality of life in Ada by revitalizing the downtown area as a community center, promoting a healthy, friendly, economically viable and attractive Main Street.
