    The East Central University volleyball squad will be playing six non-conference matches in the middle of the 2012 campaign starting Tuesday, Oct. 2 when it hosts Central Oklahoma at 7 p.m. in the Kerr Activities Center.

    Saturday night's Great American Conference showdown in Searcy, Ark., will feature a marquee match-up between an East Central defense that ranks near the top of Division II in stopping the run and a Harding option attack that leads the nation in rushing. But the key to the game could be the success of ECU's rejuvenated offense against a Harding defense that is pretty good in its own right.

    For East Central head football coach Tim McCarty, hiding his disappointment with the performance by his offense in Saturday night's 37-15 victory over Southern Nazarene at Norris Field has been as tough as watching the Tigers' disappearing act on that side of the ball against the outmanned Crimson Storm.
