Ada — A 41-point outburst during last weekend's Homecoming victory over Northwestern may have been just what the doctor ordered to begin the healing process of East Central University's ailing offense.
ECU's offensive attack will need to be as healthy as possible with a 4-1 Southern Arkansas squad visiting Norris Field for a key Great American Conference battle that kicks off at 2 p.m. Saturday.
The Tigers (3-3, 1-2) used a balanced offense to bury the Rangers, piling up 224 yards rushing and 226 yards through the air.
"With our struggling offense, it was nice to see those points on the board," ECU head coach Tim McCarty said. "I still don't know who we are because we've flopped around the spectrum. We've had one outing where the offense has been nonexistent and this past weekend we hit all the spots and executed at a fairly high level."
The veteran coach said it was nice to see his team perform so well on Homecoming day.
