Ada — Heading into the final month of the 2012 regular-season, the East Central University volleyball team will play the next three matches in the friendly confines of the Kerr Activities Center. The Lady Tigers (6-18, 3-4 GAC) will host two Great American Conference opponents this week, starting with a match today against Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. ECU will also battle with Henderson State at 2 p.m. , Saturday, Oct. 20.
The Crimson Storm are 8-15 overall and 5-3 in league play after losing their last six match, the last five in three-sets each. SNU has struggled on the road this season, as they own a 1-6 mark on the road and a 1-8 mark on neutral courts. The Crimson Storm are trailing their opponents in all categories on the box score, with the closest disadvantage in blocks (1.7 to 1.8) and the largest in hitting percentage (.169 to .204).
Natalia Oliveira, Kira Roberts and Jamie Hope are the leading offensive threats for SNU. Oliveira has a .194 (192k-73e-612ta) hitting percentage, 25 service aces and 306 digs. Roberts is hitting at a .173 (166k-78e-510ta) pace, while Hope adds a .185 (136k-57e-427ta) hitting percentage and 59 (9-50) blocks.
