ECU soccer team heads to Arkansas

Ada —  

The East Central University soccer team will play its final two regular-season road Great American Conference matches this weekend.  

The Lady Tigers (2-9-1, 2-3 GAC) will first head to Searcy, Ark., for a 7 p.m. match with Harding at First Security Stadium on Friday. ECU will finish the weekend in Arkadelphia, Ark., for a 1 p.m. match with Ouachita Baptist on Sunday.

The Lady Bisons are 5-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the GAC on the season.  Harding is averaging 1.27 goals per game and allowing 1.91.  Jenna Taylor is the top producer for the Lady Bisons, with three goals and two assists.  Four other players have two goals each, including Lauren Scharf, who scored against the Lady Tigers earlier this season.  Danielle Nonaka has seen action in all 11 matches in net for Harding, allowing 20 goals against and recording .810 saves percentage.

    East Central University football defensive end Armonty Bryant has picked up two post season honors after a standout senior season.  Bryant was named to the 2012 AFCA Division II Coaches’ All-America Team and The Oklahoman State College All-Star Football Team Defensive Player of the Year.
