Morris and Jeannie McGehee will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. June 6 at the Central Church of Christ Family Life Center, 820 Stadium Drive in Ada. The event is hosted by the couple's children.
Morris McGehee and Jeannie Cooper were married on June 4, 1956, at the Lula Church of Christ and have made their home in Ada since their marriage. Morris was employed at Southeast Marine, East Central University and retired from Holcim Cement after 25 years of service. Jeannie was a business and home economics teacher for 37 years, teaching at Sasakwa, Tupelo and McLish schools. They are longtime members of the Central Church of Christ.
Two children were born to the union, Marisa Wilson and husband Curtis; and Michael McGehee and wife Shelley, all of Ada. They have six grandchildren; Kendal, Reagan and London Wilson and Malory, Mason and Chase McGehee.
Morris and Jeannie invite friends and family to join them and request no gifts, just the presence of well-wishers.
