Jim and Sue Weaver Scrivner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 14. They were married in Hobbs, New Mexico, at the First Baptist Church on Aug. 14, 1965.
While attending the University of Oklahoma, they made their home in Norman. Jim finished law school at OU and Sue taught school in Oklahoma City. They lived in El Paso, Texas, while Jim served as 1st LT. in the Army. They moved to Ada in the summer of 1972.
Jim went into a law firm of Lambert, Roberts and Jaques. He later went into practice with Mike Smith and Craig Shew. Sue retired from teaching second grade at Hayes Elementary in 1998.
They have two sons, Kevin and Scott, and two daughters-in-law, Evie and Leslie, and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Merideth, Will, Sam, Katherine, Paige and Beau Boxley. Jim and Sue celebrated their anniversary with their sons and their wives on an Alaskan cruise.
