3 apps to help you succeed this semester

With most schools around the country back in session, the time has come to get organized for the semester. These three apps will help students manage time, tasks and succeed in class.

Evernote

The organizational note-taking app stores all your documents online, allowing users to access their notes from any machine, including phones, tablets and computers.

Take class notes, save PDFs of a class syllabus,  or save audio reminders.

Additional downloads include Evernote Food, for saving recipes and favorite meals, and Evernote Peek which turns the iPad 2 with a smart cover into a flashcard system.

The basic app is available for free in both Apple and Android stores.

Quizlet

Turn your phone into foreign language flashcards with Quizlet. Browse a list of language flashcards built into the app or create your own to keep up with lessons. The app also includes audio for 18 languages.

Quizlet accounts can also be accessed from a computer.

The app is available for free in Apple and Android stores.

Graphing Calculator

Instead of spending a hefty sum on a big graphing calculator, spend $1.99 to get the functionality in an app.

The app graphs equations and fulfills the requirements most students should expect in standard math classes. The app can also be displayed on an external monitor for study sessions.

The app is available for $1.99 in Apple and Windows stores.
