• Preserving Area Stories in Time’s  (PAST) December business meeting will be replaced by its annual Christmas dinner at JD’s on Friday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. The monthly business meetings will return in January.

The event is open to the public.

• Al Anon meets at 8 p.m. each Friday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. 

 

SATURDAY

DEC. 8, 2012

• All Nations Pow-Wow Christmas bazaar takes place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Chickasaw Nation Community Center, located at the corner of Mississippi and Arlington streets in Ada. Arts and craft vendors, food, the Chickasaw Nation choir and a visit from Santa Claus are all part of the fun. The event is free and open to the public. • St. Luke’s Episcopal Church hosts a bake sale and boutique from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, and on Sunday morning, Dec. 9. There will be an assortment of  baked goods for holiday parties, as well as jewelry and other  crafts from Kenya, Nigeria and Uganda. St. Luke’s Episcopal Church is located at 17th and Broadway.

• The Polar Express Park Train made its opening season run Friday, Nov. 23, at 6 p.m. Braving the cold, the train circles Wintersmith Park, giving passengers a special view of the holiday lights. The train will be open to the public each Friday and Saturday evening until Christmas between 6-9 p.m. All rides are free.  A complimentary cup of hot chocolate awaits passengers returning from their journey. These special trips are provided for children between the ages of 1 and 100 and are a gift from the Kiwanis Clubs of Ada.

• TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, a support weight loss group, meets at 8:30 a.m. each Monday at Irving Community Center, second floor. For more information, phone 580-456-7673.
