In other business, the Ada City Council:

• Approved several items related to upgrading the water tower on Townsend Street.

The council authorized the city to seek a $90,784 federal grant for the project and hired the company Millie Vance Inc. to apply for the funds and administer the grant. The city will supply $251,123 in matching funds to the project, which carries an estimated price tag of $341, 907.

• Scheduled an Aug. 5 hearing on whether the city should annex property south of the J..A. Richardson Loop on Kerr Lab Road.
