Couple celebrates 60 years

Stratford —  

Johnnie and Betty Prewitt, Stratford, are celebrating their 60th “Diamond” wedding anniversary on Thursday, August 4, 2011, with a family gathering hosted by their children.  

The couple married on August 4, 1951, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. They have lived in the Stratford area over 50 years. Both Mr. and Mrs. Prewitt have been successful business owners. Mr. Prewitt is retired from owning and operating, Prewitt’s Foundation Work & Brick Masonry; and Mrs. Prewitt is retired from owning and operating, Betty’s Ceramics. 

Mr. and Mrs. Prewitt attend church at Cottrell Mission south of Stratford and the Paoli Pentecostal Church.  Mr. Prewitt enjoys fishing and gardening in his spare time, and they both enjoy attending bluegrass music festivals and spending time with their family.

The Prewitts have three children:  Johnny Wayne Prewitt and wife Siritip, Brenda Jo Stacy and husband Greg, and Kevin Lynn Prewitt and his wife Karla.  They have 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
