Hudson's celebrate golden anniversary

Ada — ADA — Ken and Jan Hudson celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011.

They were married Jan. 27, 1961, at First Baptist Church in Ada.

They are both retired teachers from Byng Public Schools. Mr. Hudson taught music at Fort Cobb Public Schools from 1966 to 1971 and at Byng Public Schools from 1971 to his retirement in 1993. Mrs. Hudson taught elementary in the Byng School District from 1977 to her retirement in 1999. Mr. Hudson also served as minister of music at Healdton, Purcell, Oklahoma City Kentucky Avenue, Trinity in Ada, and Lovelady Baptist Church in Ada.

To many, they are known as Meme and PawPaw. They have dedicated their lives to serving Christ, the community and their family. In retirement, they continue to serve through their church, as volunteer activity coordinators at Heartland Assisted Living Center, and through their involvement in the Southern Baptist Campers on Mission Organization.

According to family members, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with countless other family members and friends, are continually blessed by the Christian example of the Hudsons.
