Ada —

Mother Nature played the September Shuffle Thursday on the first day of regional tournaments for most area baseball and softball teams.

Heavy rains that blanketed most of Pontotoc, Seminole and Pottawatomie Counties forced postponement of Class A regional baseball tournaments at Sterling and Dale that include Roff and Latta, respectively, and the Class A Regional scheduled at Byng was moved to Silo because of a wet field.

In softball, Latta's first-round game at the Class 2A Regional at Tushka was stopped in the third inning with the Lady Panthers leading the host Lady Tigers, 1-0, and the Class B Regional at Maud was also interrupted by rain and could be moved to Stonewall today.

Ada and Byng were scheduled to host Class 4A District Tournaments beginning Thursday, but the one in Ada was postponed and the one scheduled for Byng was moved to Madill.
