Ada — There's no sugar-coating Santa Fe South, the Ada Cougars' Week 6 opponent. They simply aren't very good.
The fourth-ranked Cougars will go on the road to face a Saints' team that has just one victory in five tries — a 25-12 victory over Seeworth Academy. Santa Fe South has been outscored 97-6 by district foes Harrah and McLoud (and also has a 64-0 loss to Cache on its 2012 resumé.
"They haven't been around very long and they're kind of a new program," said Ada head coach Matt Weber.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Santa Fe Middle School, located at 4712 South Santa Fe, just south of 44th Street.
Of the 38 players listed on the Santa Fe South roster, 26 are freshmen or sophomores. Leading the way for the Saints is 6-0, 210-pound senior quarterback Adrian Olivas.
"Last year they were really good offensively, and their quarterback throws it pretty well. They're struggling a little bit on the other side of the football," Weber said.
