Former Adan named assistant director of San Antonio library

San Antonio, Texas — San Antonio Public Library Director Ramiro S. Salazar has announced the appointment of Oklahoma native and Ada High School Class of 1979 alum, Dale McNeill, as assistant library director for public services.

“We are excited to  welcome Dale to San Antonio," Salazar said. "He brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to this position. His leadership skills will position the library to continue to innovate our service efforts.” 

McNeill comes to San Antonio from the Queens (New York) Public Library, where he was director, public library service. Queens Public Library is one of the largest in the country, with an annual budget of approximately $125 million and 62 branches, seven adult learning centers and two family literacy centers serving a population of 2.3 million. As director, public library service, McNeill was responsible for direction and oversight of all public services provided by all 62 locations of the library system. Prior to joining the Queens Library system, he was public service administrator for the Dallas (Texas) Public Library.
