Cougar Chase to benefit city schools

Recently, Sarah Miracle and a couple of her friends were talking about Ada City Schools and the district’s financial needs.

That discussion started the friends thinking about fundraisers that would be fun and healthy for adults and children. The group wanted to come up with an alternative to traditional school fundraisers, which usually involve candy or food sales.

Those discussions inspired the first-ever Cougar Chase, a 5K run and walk to benefit Ada schools.

“This was some way we could volunteer our time and organize an annual event that could be fun, that the kids could help organize and the kids could participate (along with) parents,” said Miracle, race director for the event. “And all ages can participate.”
